Safeguarding and Online Safety

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead and Prevent Duty Lead is Sarah White (Head Teacher)

As a caring school we foster the welfare of all pupils in creating a happy, safe and secure environment. We recognise that high self-esteem, confidence, peer support and clear lines of communication with trusted adults helps all children. Our school will therefore:

  • Establish and maintain an ethos where children feel secure and are encouraged to talk, and are listened to.
  • Ensure that children know there are adults in the school who they can approach if they are worried or in difficulty.
  • Include in the curriculum activities and opportunities for PSHE which equip children with the skills they need to stay safe from abuse, sexual exploitation, radicalisation and extremism.
  • Ensure that wherever possible every effort will be made to establish effective working relationships with parents and colleagues from other agencies.

Our Online Safety Champion is Mrs Cathy Taylor.

As part of the new National Curriculum, Brennands Endowed Primary School staff are determined to improve the knowledge, skill and maturity of our children in regards to Internet use and safety.

Brennands Endowed Primary School prides itself on all stakeholders developing a curriculum and daily opportunities to exploit the Internet and the acceptable way this resource should be used. Children throughout school are taught about online safety and how they can remain safe when on the internet. This is often taught throughout the curriculum and also through Collective Worship as a whole school, Key Stage and Class Assemblies. We also hold training sessions for parents, Governors and staff regarding the issues of online safety.

Safer Internet Day is on Tuesday 6th February 2024.

If someone has done something online that has made you or a child or young person you know, feel worried or unsafe, contact the CEOP Safety Centre using the CLICK CEOP button.
